After the success of, 'Nanban' which is a remake of Aamir Khan's blockbuster '3 Idiots', Vijay has expressed his wish to be a part of typical Shankar brand magnum opus commercial movie multiple times in various TV interviews & Award ceremonies.
Shankar is currently busy with the post production works for 'Ai' and there were news that, he approached Rajini for 'Enthiran 2' but given the health condition of Superstar, the idea for Chitti's sequel has taken a back seat. Some went to claim that Ajith will be doing the sequel, but Shankar himself has denied the same on his page.
Meanwhile, Shankar has invited a very few from the industry for his birthday party & Vijay is one among them. This has sparked fresh rumors and few claim it is true that Shankar has picked Vijay for a stylish commercial entertainer. If these pair join hands together, it will be nothing lesser than a grand carnival.
